What is GHK-Cu?

GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper, or Copper Tripeptide-1) occurs naturally in human plasma. Laboratory research dating back to 1988 has shown it stimulates collagen synthesis in fibroblasts [1] and modulates multiple cellular pathways involved in skin regeneration and repair [4]. In the scalp context, that supporting role matters: hair grows from follicles anchored in skin, and GHK-Cu's studied effects concern the condition of that environment. What is AHK-Cu?

AHK-Cu (alanyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper) is a copper peptide complex studied directly on human hair. In a 2007 in-vitro study at Seoul National University, AHK-Cu treatment increased the size of cultured human hair follicles and stimulated the proliferation of dermal papilla cells, the cells that regulate the hair growth cycle [3].
